i'm not very technically minded as you know but i got this pm and thought i would pass it on to see if anyone can help ...please
Hi there!
The question is - how can I post a reply? At the moment all I can do is pm and read messages - when I try to post a reply it keeps saying I have insufficient priveliges (or something like that!), yet it lets me send pm's.
Do you happen to know what it could be? I've tried emailing the site directly, but got the standard email - which ironically tells me to post a thread to get help!!! :rotfl:
If you know how to help I would be very grateful (if not, thanks for your time anyway!)
Thanks very much
thanks everyone

Is it a new user elantan? Maybe they need to activate their account from a link in their email to be able to post a reply or post a new thread?? Can't remember if new users have to do that with MSE.

PM one of the staff - it sounds like their account may be set up incorrectly. What do their "Posting rules" (bottom left of the page) say?
Mine says:
Posting Rules
You may post new threads
You may post replies
You may not post attachments
You may edit your posts
